Master of Accountancy

The University of Guam is the only institution of higher learning in Guam and Micronesia offering a 4-year degree program in accounting. Beginning 2022 Fanuchånan (Fall) Semester, it will offer a Masters of Accountancy degree program. The Masters of Accountancy will provide an opportunity for many island residents across Micronesia and beyond the region to join a one year, fully online, cohort-based, 30-credit hour degree program. Effective December 15, 2021, accounting majors and working professionals interested in pursuing a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Guam licensure must meet the 150-credit hour requirement, pursuant to the Guam Code Annotated Section 35105(c)(2).

The Masters of Accountancy curriculum will include a balance of advanced accounting coursework focused on molding ethical and professional individuals interested in leading and thriving in a global, competitive marketplace. The curriculum offers courses in professional accounting research, financial analysis and valuation, corporate governance and ethics, advanced auditing and forensic accounting, information systems and data analytics, and an accounting capstone experience. Topics are organized into four areas matching the CPA exam categories: (1) Regulation, (2) Financial Accounting and Reporting, (3) Auditing and Attestation, and (4) Business Environment and Concepts. Our programs are developed with the commitment to transforming lives and advancing communities.
